Downtown Orillia Celebrates Acclaimed Writer
with Annual Leacock Sidewalk Sale and Street Festival
Downtown Orillia - Thousands will crowd Orillia’s historic main street on July 24-25th for Downtown Orillia’s annual Summer Sidewalk Sale. The more than 150 merchants will bring their best to the street for Leacock Sidewalk Sale & Street Festival from 9-7 Friday and 9-6 on Saturday.
Dianne Cipolla, Chair of this year’s Sidewalk Sale is anticipating an entertaining two days. “We’ve worked really hard to pack the street with not only bargains but lots of entertainment the whole family can enjoy.” she said. “The street will be buzzing with strolling performers, bands, and an expanded Farmer’s Market on Saturday.”
Some of the hottest local performers are booked to play the Leacock Sidewalk Sale including Methodology, Jazz Tex, musician Steven Kevin Henry and on Saturday acclaimed children’s performer “Dan the Music Man” and a live reptile show by J & K Reptiles.
The art community on Peter Street will be out in full force once again this year, displaying the best of the region’s artist’s work. “We have a vibrant arts community in downtown Orillia and this is a great opportunity for tourist and locals alike to check out their wonderful work” adds Cipolla.
